PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide the superimposed image of morphological images and function images of high image quality while reducing the exposure dose of X-rays to an object.
SOLUTION : An X-ray CT apparatus performs the absorptive correction of PET tomographic images by absorptive correction data (D1) obtained by the irradiation of X-rays of lower dose (S6). An operator refers to the PET tomographic images (D3) and sets a region for gathering CT tomographic images (S9). The X-ray CT apparatus obtains the CT tomographic images (D4) by the irradiation of the X-rays of normal dose only in the set range (S10). The PET tomographic images (D2 or D3) are corrected again on the basis of the CT tomographic images (D4) and the PET tomographic images (D5) after re-correction are obtained (S11). By superimposing and displaying the PET tomographic images (D5) after the re-correction and the CT tomographic images (D4), the superimposed images of the morphological images (CT tomographic images) and the functional images (PET tomographic images) of the high image quality are provided.
