PURPOSE : A method and an apparatus for treating earth and sand contained in construction waste are provided to separate clay and sand from sorted earth and sand disused in the construction waste treating process at lower installation cost and operation cost. CONSTITUTION : A method for treating earth and sand contained in construction waste comprises the processes of : injecting sorted earth and sand generated from a construction waste treating process into a first steeping separation tank containing an aqueous dispersant solution to remove viscous properties of the sorted earth and sand; transferring and injecting the viscous property-removed sorted earth and sand in a slurry state into a second steeping separation tank to diffuse particles uniformly, and suspending fine clay particles and filtering the fine clay particles to collect clay slurry; discharging water from the second steeping separation tank to a downward inclined discharge port and recovering sand remaining in the second steeping separation tank through a lower central discharge port; naturally discharging the clay slurry filtered in the second steeping separation tank from a dewatering tank, pressing saturated water and clay remaining in a filter plate set using a pressing magnet, and moving pressed clay to a rotary discharge equipment by a transfer device of the pressing magnet; controlling magnetically a filter plate attached to a magnet to place the filter plate on the rotary discharge equipment and rotating the rotary discharge equipment to recover pressed clay; and collecting water used in the steeping separation tanks and the dewatering tank into a reusing water storage tank to use reusing water again. © KIPO 2008
