The invention relates to a porous body with a density of 40 to 70%, made from an iron alloy, with 0.01 to 2 wt. % of mixed oxide made up of at least one oxide compound of one or metals from the group Y, Sc, or rare earth metals and at least one further oxide compound of one or more metals of the group Ti, Al, or Cr. The porous body shows no degradation at application temperatures of 900°C, is further characterised by an exceedingly high resistance to corrosion and is particularly suitable as support substance for application in high temperature fuel cells.
