PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric composition having a high specific dielectric constant, good electrical and mechanical properties and a long accelerated life time of specific resistance, and to provide a ceramic capacitor using the dielectric composition. SOLUTION : The ceramic capacitor and its dielectric composition are prepared by mixing sub-component substances with a main component substance and firing the mixture. The main component substance has the composition expressed by a formula (Ba1-x Mex )k (Zr1-y Tiy )O3 (wherein Me denotes Ca and/or Sr; x is a number satisfying 0.7<=x<=0.95; k is a number satisfying 0.9<=k<=1.1; y is a number satisfying 0.02<=y<=0.1). The sub-component substances include a first additive such as an oxide of Si, Mn and Cr or the like and a second additive including one or more of oxides of rare-earth elements (La, Ce, Pr, Nd, Sm, Eu, Gd, Tb, Dy Ho, Er, Tm, Yb and Lu) including Sc and Y or of Nb, Mo, Ta and W.
