PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen-based magnet alloy powder which has a narrow particle size distribution and superior heat resistance, weathering resistance and magnetic properties; a manufacturing method therefor; and a rare-earth bond magnet using it. SOLUTION : In a method for manufacturing a R2TM17NXtype of the rare earth-transition metal-nitrogen-based magnet alloy powder containing a rare-earth metal (R), a transition metal (TM) selected from iron, cobalt and nickel, and nitrogen as main components, the manufacturing method comprises the steps of : pulverizing a mother alloy including the rare-earth metal (R) and the transition metal (TM) into the powder with an average particle diameter of 1 to 10 μm; mixing the powder of the pulverized mother alloy with a powder of a rare-earth oxide and a reducing agent, and heating the mixture in an inert gas in a temperature range of 800 to 1, 200°C; embrittling and pulverizing an obtained reaction product in a hydrogen gas atmosphere; nitriding the powder of the reaction product with the use of nitrogen or ammonia to produce the magnet alloy powder; and washing the powder with water for the purpose of removing a residual substance of the reducing agent from the magnet alloy powder.
