PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an aqueous synthetic resin emulsion capable of forming a film excellent in water resistance, hot water resistance, boiling resistance, toughness and durability; a re-emulsifiable emulsion powder; an aqueous synthetic resin emulsion obtained by re-emulsifying the re-emulsifiable emulsion powder; and an adhesive composition.SOLUTION : The aqueous synthetic resin emulsion is the one which has a synthetic resin dispersed and stabilized therein by a polyvinyl alcohol resin (a) having 1, 2-diol units in side chains. As a polymerizable monomer to constitute the synthetic resin, a hydrophobic monomer whose solubility to water of 20°C is ≤0.1% is contained in an amount of ≥30 wt.% based on the whole polymerizable monomers, and as the hydrophobic monomer there is included a styrene-based monomer. Also provided are the re-emulsifiable emulsion powder and the aqueous synthetic resin emulsion obtained by re-emulsifying the powder.COPYRIGHT : (C)2009, JPO&INPIT
