PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method of an exhaust gas purification catalyst capable of obtaining high reaction efficiency without the necessity to increase the holding weight of a rare metal so much as a metallic catalyst.
SOLUTION : This manufacturing method is to manufacture the paper-like nano-catalyst for exhaust gas purification which holds platinum as a metallic catalyst for purifying the exhaust gas by molding a material which includes a carbon fiber, an inorganic fiber, an inorganic filler, an inorganic binder and a flocculant into a paper-like porous structure. Further, after imparting a hydrophilic nature S1 to the surface of the carbon fiber, the platinum nano-particle is directly synthesized (S2) on the carbon fiber through the process to reduce a platinum ion to a platinum metal on the carbon fiber, and the elaborated platinum nano-particle is supported on the fiber.
