The invention relates to the use of the reverse chronopotentiometry to obtain a performance indicator electrolytic reduction of the metallic state of at least one chemical element selected from the rare earths and actinides, electrolytic reduction is carried out in a medium of molten salts. It also relates to a method for selecting a set of reverse chronopotentiometry by process conditions producing the metallic state of at least one chemical element selected from the rare earths and actinides, by electrolytic reduction in a medium of molten salts, the process conditions being the qualitative composition of the molten salt medium, the concentration of the chemical element in the molten salt medium, medium temperature of molten salts and the cathodic current density. The invention further provides a method for producing the metallic state of at least one chemical element selected from the rare earths and actinides, by electrolytic reduction in a medium of molten salts, which comprises carrying out said method of selecting a set of operating conditions. The invention further provides methods for producing dysprosium and neodymium in the metallic state by electrolytic reduction in media of molten salts.
