PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for producing an exhaust gas purifying catalyst having improved cleaning performance and heat-resistant performance by sufficiently dispersing material to be carried to carriers. SOLUTION : In the production of the exhaust gas purifying catalyst having the carrier comprising alumina and the material to be carried which is carried on the carrier and contains a perovskite multiple oxide expressed as LnMO3(Ln : rare earth metal), the impregnation and deposition of the perovskite multiple oxide to the alumina is performed through a process of allowing a solution containing a catalytic component to soak into micropores of the alumina and fixing the catalytic component to micropore walls.
