PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide the magnetic material, excellent in temperature characteristic required by a sensor for the positional control of motorcar or the like, its manufacturing method and resin bond type magnet employed for the sensor or the like which employs the magnetic material. SOLUTION : The magnetic material is shown by a general formula SmαHREβFe(100-α-β-γ-δ)MnγNδ(here; HRE is not less than one kind of heavy rare earth element selected from Gd or Er while α, β, γ, δ are atomic% which satisfy relative formulae of 5≤α+β≤10, α>β, 2≤γ≤5, and 15≤δ≤25). In this case, a main phase, having the crystal structure of rhombohetral crystal and/or Wurzite consisting of the constituent of at least the Sm, HRE, Fe, Mn and N, and a subphase, having a nitrogen concentration higher than that of the main phase and, further, coercive force Hcj is not lower than 240 kA/m(3 kOe) and the absolute value of temperature coefficient of the coercive force Hcj is not higher than 0.50%/K in the absolute value thereof while having the temperature coefficient of flux density Br is not higher than 0.02%/K in the absolute value thereof, are comprised in the magnetic material crystal grain.
