PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnetic recording medium including a structure in which coupling is performed in a magnetically anti-parallel state without using rare metals such as Co and Ru, and also to provide a perpendicular magnetic recording medium, a magnetic recording device, and a magnetic memory cell. SOLUTION : Provided are : the magnetic recording medium including the structure in which a first magnetic layer and a second magnetic layer are coupled in a magnetically anti-parallel state without imposing non-magnetic layer between them; the perpendicular recording medium; the magnetic storage device; and the magnetic memory cell. The first magnetic layer consists of an oxide having ion crystal structure of a spinel type or an anti-spinel type, and the second magnetic layer consists of a metal which is a single body and has ferromagnetism or an alloy including the metal which is a single body and has ferromagnetism.
