PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a stress-induced light-emitting material showing the excellent light emitting characteristics, to be produced at a baking temperature lower than that of the conventional stress-induced light-emitting material, its manufacturing method, and its utilization, and to provide a stress-induced light emitting material showing high luminance light emitting characteristics of a wavelength shorter than 350 nm, its manufacturing method, and its utilization. SOLUTION : The material has a structure represented by general formula MN(PO3)4, (wherein M is a monovalent metal ion and N is a trivalent metal ion) as the base structure, with at least a part of M or N in the general formula substituted by at least either one of a rare earth ion and a group III metal ion.
