PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide fluorescent glass which is glass having sufficient durability and strength and has excellent light emission intensity. ŽSOLUTION : The method for manufacturing the fluorescent glass comprises using the fluorescent glass prepared by carrying a metal oxide including a rare earth oxide into the pores of porous glass and β-diketonato complex of a rare earth element as a raw material, introducing the complex into the pores of the porous glass by a chemical vapor transportation method and vapor depositing the rare earth oxide in the pores.
