PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet excellent in magnetic characteristics at high temperatures, with no substantial modification of composition of hard magnetic phase. SOLUTION : The method for manufacturing a rare earth magnet includes a step where the compositions of hard magnetic phase and soft magnetic phase and a volume ratio between the hard magnetic phase and the soft magnetic phase are set; a step where interparticle exchange coupling constant Je, contact area S per each particle, anisotropic constant Ku per each unit volume, and volume V per each particle are set under the condition of the composition and the volume ratio to obtain a ratio η between interparticle exchange coupling energy and crystal anisotropic energy which is represented with η=(Je×S)/(Ku×V); a step where a magnetic characteristics MP (η), as a function of η, is obtained for a first temperature T1 and a second temperature T2 (>T1); and a step where a temperature coefficient α(MP) of the magnetic characteristics MP is obtained for the value of a plurality of η based on the magnetic characteristics MP (η, T1) and MP (η, T2) obtained in the process (c).
