PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a cell output even in a low temperature of less than 500°C, in a solid electrolyte fuel cell. SOLUTION : In the solid electrolyte fuel cell equipped with a pair of electrodes and a solid electrolyte fitted between the electrodes, the solid electrolyte is to be an oxide proton conductor having a composition represented by formula (1) or (2). (1) Ba(Zr1-xCex)1-yMyAlzO3-α (M is one or more kinds of elements selected from a group of trivalent rare earth elements and In, 1>x>0, 0.3>y>0, 0.04>z≥0, and 1.5>α>0).
