PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric porcelain composition which shows high dielectric constant and good temperature characteristic, even after being processed into a thin film, and shows good characteristics such as CR product, breakdown voltage, DC bias characteristic and high-temperature accelerated life test characteristic. SOLUTION : The dielectric porcelain composition comprises BaTiO3 as a main component and also comprises 0.50-2.50 mol MgO, 0.05-0.35 mol MnO, 0.40-1.50 mol R2O3 (wherein R is a rare earth element other than Gd), 0.03-0.10 mol (but not 0.10 mol) Gd2O3, 0.20-0.70 mol BaZrO3 and 0.02-0.15 mol oxide of an element chosen from V, Ta, Mo, Nb and W as subcomponents, provided that each subcomponent is calculated in terms of an oxide or composite oxide, relative to 100 mol of the main component.
