PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an unit cell having a highly reliable anti-reaction layer and being superior in power generation, and also to provide a solid electrolyte fuel battery therewith and a manufacturing method by which the unit cell can be manufactured stably and efficiently. SOLUTION : This unit cell 1 comprises a fuel electrode substrate 11, a solid electrolyte layer 12, an air electrode layer 14; and further an anti-reaction layer 13 is disposed between the solid electrolyte layer 12 and the air electrode layer 14, which is formed with a CeO2based oxide made of Ce of part of CeO2that is substituted by at least one rare earth element selected from Sc and Y; wherein the area of the anti-reaction layer 13 is smaller than that of the solid electrolyte layer 12. In addition, this fuel battery comprises the unit cell 1, a separator 21, and a sealing part 22 for airtightly joining between the unit cell and the separator, wherein the separator is joined to the solid electrolyte layer through the sealing part. This manufacturing method includes a forming process in which the fuel electrode substrate, the solid electrolyte layer, and the anti-reaction layer are baked together. COPYRIGHT : (C)2004, JPO
