PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a luminous neon tube in which a synergistic effect of an electroluminescent effect by covering the surface of an electroluminescent fiber with a phosphorescent pigment and a phosphorescent effect by its excitation light is generated, performance such as strength, installation performance, water resistance, and a light volume is sufficient, and a long lifetime of the electroluminescent fiber by improving insulation by multiple coating and an effect of the application of a high electric field is provided.
SOLUTION : The electroluminescent fiber is formed into a luminous neon tube in which phosphor containing a rare earth element in an alkaline earth aluminate as an activator is formed on the surface layer or between the layers of the fiber, and the neon tube is provided with the electroluminescent fiber in which a plurality of conductors for AC power supply are arranged inside the insulating electric wires coated with the phosphor and the phosphor layer to cover these. Since the luminous neon tube has electric wires for power supply built in the tube, a long length can be achieved by connecting a plurality of pieces. Thereby, a safe current of a maximum allowable current value or smaller can be supplied and sufficient luminance can be secured.
