PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a molding device in a magnetic field where cracks and peeling can be reduced while maintaining uniform and high orientation in magnetic powder molding for obtaining a magnet having high characteristics, to provide a mold, and to provide a method for producing a rare earth sintered magnet.
SOLUTION : As a mold having a cavity C corresponding to the shape of the molding to be molded, a mortar mold 11 whose inner wall face S is formed of a cemented carbide with the average particle diameter of 0.2 to 5 μm, and having a face roughness Ra of 0.005 to 0.5 μm is used. Then, magnetic powder is fed to the cavity C, the magnetic powder P is subjected to compression molding while applying a magnetic field thereto, and the molding of the magnetic powder is taken out from the cavity C and is sintered so as to obtain a sintered magnet body.
