PURPOSE : A method for fabricating rare earth permanent magnet material is provided to improve efficiency and to reduce Tb or Dy of a R-Fe-B sintered magnet by deposing a power on a surface of the sintered magnet body and progressing a heat treatment at a temperature below the sintering temperature of the magnet body for absorbing R^2, T, M, A in the powder to the magnet body.
CONSTITUTION : A method for fabricating rare earth permanent magnet material comprises the steps : disposing a power on a surface of a sintered magnet body; and heat treating the magnet and the powder at a temperature below the sintering temperature of the magnet body in vacuum or in an inert gas for allowing R^2 and at least one of T, M, A in the power to be absorbed in the magnet body. The powder includes 30%% of alloy made of R^2aTbMcAdHe. The average particle size of the power is less than 100μm. The R^2 of the R^2aTbMcAdHe is at least one element selected form rare earth elements including Sc AND Y. The T is Fe and/or Co. The M is at least one element selected from Al, Cu, Zn, In, Si, P, S, Ti, V, Cr, Mn, Ni, Ga, Ge, Zr, Nb, Mo, Pd, Ag, Cd, Sn, Sb, Hf, Ta, and W. The A is boron and/or carbon. The H is hydrogen and "a" or "e" including of atomic percentages based on the alloy are in the range 15<=a<=80, 0.1<=c<=15, 0<=d<=30, 0<=e<=(a×2.5), and the remainder is the b.
