METHOD FOR MULTIPLE CUTTING OF RARE EARTH MAGNET USING MULTIPLE DIAMOND ABRASIVE WHEEL

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a method for multiple cutting of a rare earth magnet using a thin and rigid abrasive wheel substrate plate. SOLUTION : The substrate plate of a diamond circumferential blade constituting the abrasive wheel, wherein a cemented carbide with a Vickers hardness (Hv) of 900 to 2, 000 is included. Preferably, the substrate plate of the circumferential blade is of a sheet of cemented carbide with an outer diameter of 200 mm or less and a thickness of 0.1 to 1 mm, an abrasive grain layer is thicker by 0.01 to 0.2 mm than the cemented carbide substrate plate on one side and is thicker by 0.02 to 0.4 mm than the cemented carbide substrate plate on both sides, the relief of the abrasive wheels is 0.01 to 0.2 mm, the substrate plate is composed of 3 to 200 sheets of diamond circumferential blades, 2 to 199 sheets of spacers, and a shaft section, the abrasive grain is composed of diamond and/or CBN, its mean grain diameter is within a scope of 50 to 250 μm, volume percentage content is within a scope of 10 to 50%, and the rare earth magnet that is an object to be cut is of an R-Fe-B series rare earth sintered magnet.
