PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a magnesium alloy for diecasting which is excellent in heat resistance, castability and corrosion resistance. SOLUTION : This magnesium alloy contains Al, rare earth elements and Mn. The content of Mn is 0.05 to 1.0 wt.%. when the content of Al is defined as (a) mass% and the content of R.E. is defined as (b) mass%, it is satisfied that a≥2.5, 2.5≥b/a≥1.5-2.5/a, and 31.3/a-4.3≥b/a. The balance is composed of Mg with inevitable impurities. When a prescribed area in the cross-section of a regular part is defined as 100%, the area ratio of Mg-Al compounds in the prescribed area is ≤0.1%. COPYRIGHT : (C)2007, JPO&INPIT
