PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To shorten time required for dispersing a boride particle in various solvents, and to reduce haze value of an insolation shield containing the boride particle.
SOLUTION : A method of manufacturing the boride particle represented by the formula : XBm (wherein X is a metal element chosen from alkaline earth elements and rare earth elements including yttrium (Y); and m satisfies the relation : 4≤m≤6.3) comprises a step of stirring and reacting a solution (1) of a compound containing X and an alkaline solution (2) to obtain a precipitate, a step of mixing a particle of a hydroxide and/or a hydrate (3) of X obtained from the precipitate or a particle of an oxide (5) of X with a B4C particle (4) to obtain a mixture of the X oxide particle and the B4C particle, a step of subjecting the mixture to a heat-treatment in a vacuum or inert gas atmosphere at <1, 600°C to obtain the boride particle (6) represented by the formula : XBm and a step of mutually colliding and pulverizing the boride particles in a jet stream to obtain a boride fine particle.
