PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a gas generator composition which has low NOx concentration in a gas and hardly generates mist. SOLUTION : The gas generator composition contains a light rare earth compound. The light rare earth element is a compound of a rare earth element selected from scandium, yttrium, lanthanum, cerium, praseodymium and neodymium and the rare earth compound is selected from an oxide, a hydroxide, a halide, a nitrate, a sulfate, an acetate, a phosphate and a carbonate of the rare earth element.
