Disclosed is a rare earth magnet comprising a magnet body, which is composed of an R-Fe-B rare earth magnet material (R represents at least one rare earth element), and a metal film formed on the surface of the magnet body. This rare earth magnet further comprises a plurality of reaction layers formed between the magnet body and the metal film. A first reaction layer among the plurality of reaction layers is in contact with at least a part of R2Fe14B crystals contained in the magnet body, and contains a rare earth element contained in the R2Fe14B crystals. A second reaction layer is formed between the first reaction layer and the metal film, and has a lower rare earth concentration than that of the first reaction layer.
