[PROBLEMS] To provide a binder which is for use in tenaciously bonding a light-emitting tube comprising an aluminum nitride sinter to an electrode support comprising molybdenum and which enables the light-emitting tube produced to attain high gas tightness and have the intact excellent light transmission inherent in the aluminum nitride sinter. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] The binder is one for use in bonding a light-emitting tube main body comprising an aluminum nitride sinter to an electrode support comprising molybdenum, and is characterized in that it comprises a molybdenum powder and an aluminum nitride powder and that the total content of semimetal elements, rare-earth elements, and metallic elements (excluding the rare-earth elements and aluminum element) satisfying the following requirements (1) and (2) is 300 ppm or lower : (1) a metallic element having a melting point of 2, 000°C or lower; and (2) a metallic element having a smaller ionic radius than aluminum.
