Nickel alloy containing the following elements (wt.%) is new : chromium (27-29), aluminum (7-16), yttrium, scandium or rare earth metal (0.5-0.7), rhenium (0-11) and silicon (0-2). Independent claims are also included for : (a) protective layer for protecting a component against corrosion and/or oxidation, comprising an alloy as above; (b) component with a protective layer as above for protection against corrosion and/or oxidation at high temperatures.
