Fe-based bulk metallic glass alloys containing misch metal

PURPOSE : A fe-based bulk amorphous alloy containing misch metal is provided to restrict diffusion of atoms and to increase the amorphous formability of the fe-based bulk amorphous alloy by adding the misch whose atom radius is relatively large with the ally. CONSTITUTION : Misch metal is added with a 6 to 15%% range with a Fe-based alloy having Fe63-86 Ni5-11 Zr0-8 Si1-4 B8-15 by wt%% for the alloy. A Fe-based amorphous alloy has 0.53 of superior amorphous formability as a strip casting material having a ribbon shape and ΔT~40°C of large amorphous stabilization region. The misch metal has 50%% of Ce, 21%% of La, 10%% of Pr, and 16%% of Nd by wt%%. © KIPO 2007
