PURPOSE : Provided are a sound-absorbent using perlite, which has sound-absorbing and sound-insulating performances to be useful for a soundproofed wall on a road, and a method for producing the same. CONSTITUTION : The sound-absorbent is produced by the steps of : admixing 1-100 parts by weight of a polymer for cement modifiers and 50-200 parts by weight of perlite to 100 parts by weight of cement; introducing the mixture into a mold to be press molded; and curing the molded article, wherein the polymer for cement modifiers is a powdery re-emulsion type resin which is any one compound selected from ethylene vinyl acetate, vinyl acetate-vinyl versatate, methyl methacrylate-butyl acrylate and styrene-butyl acrylate. © KIPO 2007
