PURPOSE : A hybrid magnetic bearing for a spindle is provided to drive a magnetic bearing system by using a magnetomotive force of a permanent magnet without additional bias current.
CONSTITUTION : A hybrid magnetic bearing for spindle includes a main body(10), a motor(20) to generate a rotary force by using a rotor(21) and a stator(23) installed in the main body, a cooling device having a cold water circulation passage to cool heat generated during the driving of the motor and a cold water jacket(33), a main shaft(40) assembled to the rotor of the motor to rotate, magnetic bearings(50, 60) assembled to lateral ends of the main shaft to magnetically float the main shaft, sensors(80a, 80b, 80c) to detect a rotary displacement of the main shaft, and permanent magnets(90) provided at lateral sides of the motor. The permanent magnets are ring-type rare earth magnets, include four poles radially disposed to face each other, and are installed to be adjacent to an axial magnetic bearing(70) provided at lateral sides. The motor is independently driven regardless of the radial direction and the axis direction.
