PURPOSE : A sludge discharge structure in a solid/liquid separator or a thickener is provided to reduce the moisture content of a dewatered cake, thereby reduce the removal cost of sludge by effectively discharging high concentration sludge with low moisture content thickened in a settling tank and a thickener through a sludge extraction pipe without stagnation, thereby improving the thickening efficiency of sludge. CONSTITUTION : In a thickener(10) in which sludge with high moisture content settled in a settling tank is flown to be thickened, a sludge discharge structure in a solid/liquid separator or the thickener is characterized in that a hopper(12) of a lower part of the thickener is formed in a circular shape, and a sludge extraction pipe(20) is installed on the bottom of the hopper, wherein the sludge extraction pipe is disposed in such a manner that the sludge extraction pipe is bent in a Coriolis force acting direction(counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere) considering that acceleration is acted counterclockwise in the northern hemisphere and clockwise in the southern hemisphere by the Coriolis effect(Coriolis force) that has sludge with very low flow rate influenced by the rotation of the earth. © KIPO 2007
