PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To improve electric motor efficiency and operation efficiency of an air conditioner, by optimizing a stator applied with a concentrated winding to teeth of a permanent magnet type synchronous motor and a magnet or magnet shape by a relation to incurrent loss.
SOLUTION : The air conditioner for room air conditioning is provided with a stator 2 applied with a concentrated winding to a plurality of teeth 6 of a stator core 4 and a rotor 3 having four poles of an almost V-shaped rare earth magnet 10 with a cross sectional shape vertical to a rotary shaft externally wide opened per pole in the inside of a rotor core 8. The width W1 of a slot opening part 12 formed between a plurality of the teeth 6 of the stator core 4 and the ratio W1/[!theta!]1 of magnetic center opening [!theta!]1 from the rotary shaft center in the outermost diametric inside of the rare earth magnet 10 are set in a range from a minimum value 2.4/119=0.0201 to a maximum value 3.4/111=0.0306, a plurality of magnet slots 9 for receiving the rare earth magnet 10 are provided per rare earth magnet in the rotor 3, and a minimum width between the magnet slots in a side of a pair of the rotary shafts of the magnet slots 9 is constituted from 0.5mm to 1.0mm.
