PURPOSE : A water purification technology for effectively removing non-point source pollutants such as earth and sand, suspended solids, nutrients, heavy metals, insecticides and oils generated by first-flush runoff, and a non-point source treatment equipment which is not limited to the technology, but is capable of purifying water of rivers or lakes and marshes also are provided. CONSTITUTION : In a water contaminant treating system comprising a flush-flush runoff separator(100), a settling tank(101) and a treatment equipment(102), an equipment for treating non-point sources is characterized in that the treatment equipment comprises : an internal settling tank(2) with a vortex inducing inflow pipe(1); a sediment collecting tank(4) that is in communication with a lower portion of the internal settling tank by means of an inclined plate(3); an internal cylinder part(5) for guiding ascent of influent flown into an upper portion of the internal settling tank; and an external cylinder part(9) which is concentrically divided into media charging chambers(6) by the internal cylinder part and charging tank separating partitions(7), and in which treated water discharge screens(8) are installed, wherein the internal cylinder part is in communication with the media charging chambers through influent distribution pipes(10) vertically arranged in multistage, and a catchment pipe(12) connected to a catchment well(11) for discharging purified effluent is installed on a bottom part between the charging tank separating partitions and the treated water discharge screens. © KIPO 2007
