PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide an exhaust gas purification device for burning particulates in diesel exhaust gas, wherein the burden of a latter stage of the DPF is reduced so as to prevent clogging or melting of a DPF by disposing an oxidation catalyst honeycomb carrying a catalyst highly active against particulates in a former stage. SOLUTION : This exhaust gas purification device 1 is constituted so that the oxidation catalyst honeycomb 2 carrying a noble metal catalyst and an oxidation catalyst of an alkali metal salt, and a promotor consisting of a rare earth oxide on the surface of the metallic filter, are arranged on the former stage of the DPF 3.
