PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a rare earth-activated barium fluoride halide phosphor precursor particle that is monodisperse and small-sized and hardly causes aggregation, a manufacturing method of the phosphor obtained using the particle, and a radiation image-converting panel comprising the phosphor.
SOLUTION : The manufacturing method of the rare earth-activated barium fluoride halide phosphor precursor particle comprises a step for dissolving barium halide (BaX2), barium iodide (BaI2), a rare earth compound, and, as occasion demands, an alkaline earth metal compound in an aqueous medium to prepare a reaction mother liquor having an iodine molar ratio to the whole halogen within the range of 0.30-0.80, a step for adding an aqueous solution of a fluoride to the reaction mother liquor to form and precipitate the rare earth-activated barium fluoride halide phosphor precursor particle in the reaction solution, and a step for separating the phosphor precursor particle from the reaction solution. The rare earth-activated barium fluoride halide phosphor is manufactured by firing the particle. The radiation image-converting panel comprises the phosphor.
