PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a sealed material conformed to a specific condition of an outer tube bulb in the metal halide sealed material for a metal halide discharge lamp that contains at least one inert gas and mercury and has an ionizable sealed material having at least one halogen which includes Tl, Cs and rare earths as a metal. SOLUTION : In the metal halide lamp that contains at least one inert gas and mercury and has an ionizable sealed material having at least one halogen which includes Tl, Cs and rare earths, the sealed material additionally includes a V halogen compound.
