PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a dielectric ceramic having small electrostriction under a high electric field, high dielectric constant and excellent temperature characteristic of the dielectric constant. SOLUTION : In the dielectric ceramic comprising a solid solution consisting of a perovskite structure expressed by ABO3 (where, A contains Ba, B contains Ti) and containing a rare earth element R as a main phase particle, the main phase particle is formed from 2 regions of a 1st region high in the concentration of the rare earth element and a 2nd region low in the concentration of the rare earth element. When an optional cross-section of the dielectric ceramic is observed, the value of D90 in the distribution of the diameter in the 2nd region is <0.25 μm. COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
