PURPOSE : Provided is an electroluminescent material which has a wide range of color temperature, excellent color rendering, and strong resistance to water, moisture, and polar solvent and is applicable to light emitting devices such as ultraviolet LEDs and blue LEDs, back lights, or painting pigments. CONSTITUTION : The electroluminescent material for ultraviolet or visible excitation comprises a compound which has a rare-earth element and contains lead and/or copper. The compound absorbs some light emitted from a light emitting device and emits light having different wavelength from the absorbed light. The compound consists of any one selected from aluminate, silicate, antimonate, germanate, and/or germanate-silicate, and phosphate-based compounds, or a mixture thereof. © KIPO 2006
