PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a metal halide discharge lamp, a metal halide discharge lamp direct current lighting device and a lighting system utilizing the same, the metal halide discharge lamp disusing mercury heavily loading environment, having almost the same electrical and light emitting performance as the one with mercury sealed in, and having little color irregularity when lighted with a direct current.SOLUTION : In the metal halide discharge lamp, a first halide is a halide of one or a plurality of Na, Sc, and rare earth metal, and a second halide is a metal halide of one or a plurality of Mg, Fe, Co, Cr, Zn, Ni, Mn, Al, Sb, Be, Re, Ga, Ti, Zr, and Hf.
