PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a planting foundation for greening, which is for use on a roof floor, a roof, and a wall surface of a building, a dam, a levee of a river, a slope surface, an entrance of a tunnel, a debris dam, etc., the planting foundation being good in permeability, light in weight, easy to handle, capable of drastically reducing its component count, and utterly new without raising conventional problems such as fall of earth even if it is applied to greening of a building set on a vertical surface, a slope surface, etc., and to provide a method for producing the planting foundation for greening, and a method for greening using the planting foundation for greening. SOLUTION : The planting foundation for greening is formed of a solid fibrous material which is obtained by drying grass peat in grass peat field.
