PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To permit optical amplification and wavelength multiplexing and demultiplexing in a more miniaturized state. SOLUTION : On a lower clad layer 112, there are formed an incident waveguide core 101a, an excited light incidence core 101b, an incident side slab waveguide core 103, a plurality of array waveguide cores 105, an emission side slab waveguide core 104 and an emission waveguide core 102. Moreover, an upper clad layer 114 with a refractive index of about 1.465 is formed in such a manner as to cover each of the cores. The incident side slab waveguide core 103, a plurality of array waveguide cores 105 and the emission side slab waveguide core 104 comprise SiON with a refractive index of about 1.51, and moreover rare earth elements such as Er are added.
