PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To obtain a new fluorescent material having more excellent brightness than a usual rare-earth ionic dispersion fluorescent material and excellent in light resistance, aging stability, and the like, and to provide an optical device such as a display panel having performance such as high brightness, thin type, and energy-saving. ŽSOLUTION : The silica glass particle material, having a diameter of 30-800 nm, contains semiconductor super fine particles having a fluorescence emission efficiency of 3% or more and a diameter of 2-20 nm in a concentration in the range of 2×10-5mol/l and 5×10-4mol/l.
