The laser emits at e.g. 1047 nm wavelength into a frequency doubler (SHG) giving a mixt. of infrared and green (524 nm) outputs. Dichroic beam splitters (S1, S2) direct part of the green beam (lambda g) as the final green emission, while the remainder is passed for pumping an optical parametric oscillator (OPO). The signal beam (lambda s) at 789 nm traverses a dichroic mirror (S4) to be mixed with part (S3) of the infrared (lambda I) passed by the first beam splitter (S1) in a nonlinear crystal (SFGS), yielding a blue beam (lambda b) at 450 nm. The idler beam (lambda i) at 1520 nm traverses another dichroic mirror (S5) for mixing (SFGI) with the remainder of the infrared which gives a red beam (lambda r) at 620 nm.
