PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a manufacturing method of an ultrahydrophilic member having characteristics capable of holding ultrahydrophilicity over a long time without irradiating the ultrahydrophilic member with ultraviolet rays.
SOLUTION : At least one oxide selected from the group consisting of a transition metal oxide and an rare-earth element oxide is subjected to flame treatment by a burner to impart ultrahydrophilicity to the oxide or to increase or restore the ultrahydrophilicity of the oxide.
