PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a fluorophor which has broad peaks in a range of yellow to red (580 nm to 680 nm), has good excitation bands on long wave length side from near UV/UV light to visible light (250 nm to 550 nm) of excitation light, and has an improved light emission intensity.
SOLUTION : This fluorophor is characterized by being represented by a composition formula : MmAaBbOoNn : Z [M element is one or more elements having a II valence; A element is one or more elements among Al, Ga, In, Tl, Y, Sc, P, As, Sb, and Bi having a III valence; B element is one or more elements having a IV valence; O is oxygen; N is nitrogen; Z element is one or more elements selected from rare earth elements and transition metal elements; (m)>0; (a)>0; (b)> 0; n=2/3m+a+4/3b-2/3o, (o)≥0], and further containing boron and/or fluorine.
