PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED : To provide a material for a block construction method easily used for a restoration of a slope face. SOLUTION : A porous biscuit-fired ceramic block for slope protection can be manufactured by firing concrete at a high temperature, because the constituent of concrete is almost lime which is carbonized and condensed by firing like wood chips and forms pores. When a debris flow enters the backside of the block, only water flows out from the surface and the slope face is stabilized. The dried back-fill soil of the debris flow is well integrated with surrounding soil to become a part of the earth and accelerates the restoration of vegetation. COPYRIGHT : (C)2006, JPO&NCIPI
