PURPOSE : A negative electrode active material composition and a lithium secondary battery prepared by using the composition are provided, to reduce the loss of lithium due to the irreversible reaction by the formation of a solid electrolyte interface film and to improve reversible capacity, thereby enhancing the efficiency and capacity of a battery. CONSTITUTION : The composition comprises a negative electrode active material; 0.01-10 wt% of a solid electrolyte interface film component; and optionally at least one element selected from the group consisting of aluminium, silicon, zirconium, magnesium, calcium, strontium and rare earth elements. Preferably the solid electrolyte interface film component is at least one selected from the group consisting of LiCO3, Li2O, LiCH3CO2, LiF and LiOH; and the negative electrode active material is carbon, a lithium metal or a lithium alloy, and is coated by the solid electrolyte interface film component.
