PURPOSE : A long-distance remote sensor using the structure of a Raman amplifier and a broadband light source based on a rare-earth doped optical fiber recycling residual Raman pumping light is provided to easily measure temperature and strain without using an independent broadband light source and to use the long-distance remote sensor over 25km.
CONSTITUTION : A long-distance remote sensor system using Raman amplification consists of a pumping light source supply unit; a Raman amplifying unit for supplying the light source irradiated from a pumping light source(160) to an optical fiber(140); and a broadband light source generating unit for generating a broadband light source by the residual Raman pumping light left after Raman amplification. The Raman amplifying unit comprises a first wavelength splitting and multiplexing device(130) and an optical sensing signal transmitting optical fiber receiving the pumping light from the first wavelength splitting and multiplexing device.
