Disclosed is a method for producing a highly crystalline complex perovskite compound which stably has high Seebeck coefficient and low electrical resistivity even at high temperatures. This method for producing a complex perovskite compound places only a little burden on the environment. Specifically, this method is characterized by comprising a step for dissolving a nitrate containing a rare earth element, a nitrate containing an alkaline earth metal element, a nitrate containing manganese and an organic polymer in a solvent, a step for stirring and mixing the thus-prepared solution, a step for obtaining a precursor powder through heating and drying, and a step for firing the precursor powder in the air.
