PURPOSE : A composition for forming a protective layer and the protective layer are provided to improve resistance, crystalline property, and a transmissive ratio by forming the protective layer using a source thermal process. CONSTITUTION : A front panel(210) includes a front substrate(211), sustain electrode pairs(214), a front dielectric layer(215), and a protective layer(216). The sustain electrode pairs include an X and Y electrodes, which are formed on a rear surface(211a) of the front substrate. The front dielectric layer covers the sustain electrode pairs. The protective layer covers the front dielectric layer and is composed of at least one oxide material, which is selected from an alkaline earth metal group, a rare earth metal, and a 3B group from a periodic table. © KIPO 2006
